MPhil Mathematics
The MPhil in Mathematics is an advanced postgraduate program designed to deepen students, understanding of mathematical theories, methods, and applications. This rigorous program combines coursework and research to cultivate analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Students explore diverse areas such as pure mathematics, applied mathematics, computational mathematics, and statistics, gaining expertise in topics like algebra, analysis, geometry, and mathematical modeling. The program typically involves a research component where students work under faculty supervision to investigate complex problems, contributing original insights to the field. Graduates are well-prepared for careers in academia, research, finance, data analysis, or further doctoral studies. The MPhil in Mathematics fosters intellectual growth, critical reasoning, and the ability to tackle real-world challenges through mathematical innovation.
MPhil Physics
The MS/MPhil (Physics) course is offered by the Department of Physics as a full-time period of teaching and research and introduces students to research skills and specialist knowledge in the subject of Physics. Main objectives of the program are; To offer students graduate level courses in Theoretical and Applied Physics; To give students with relevant experience, the opportunity to carry out research in various disciplines of Physics under close supervision; To give students the opportunity to develop various skills and expertise relevant to their research interests; To give students the opportunity to engage in rigorous scholarly pursuit, and to contribute in academic and industrial research; To prepare students with a theoretical physics background and applied research needed to enter a doctorate program in physics; To prepare students to join an appropriate and respectable level position in a physics related field, and to maintain their professional skills in rapidly evolving industry and academia; To develop research based scientific thinking and to enhance professional skills for teaching, research, managerial positions in wide range of professions in national and international organizations.
MS Management Sciences
The MS program aims to develop a student's intellectual ability, executive personality, and managerial skills through an appropriate blending of business and general education. The MS curriculum provides students with a comprehensive management education of globally recognized best practices with flexibility in their adaptation to indigenous entrepreneurial and societal contexts. The curriculum of the program ascends from general management education to specialization in diverse business fields. General management skills like oral and written communication, decision-making, leadership, and teamwork developed among the students at the initial level of the program provide them with a solid foundation for more advanced studies at the elective level during the subsequent stage. Core courses taught integrate information and theories from various disciplines, including communication, economics, financial accounting, quantitative methods, business strategy, marketing, finance, organizational structure, and strategic management, and prepare the students to think critically about business issues to enable them to develop strategic level understanding and demonstrate comprehension of complex theoretical constructs in the major business disciplines and technologies.
