BS Social Work
The Department of Social Work was established under the University of Okara in 2019. However, Department initiated 1st session during fall 2020. This department aims at developing and implementing the vision for the students to better serve themselves, their households, and people within the local communities through highly engaged formal classroom training and thorough engagement in a field- oriented activity. The Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSW) is a professional degree that prepares students to address social challenges and promote well-being in individuals, families, and communities. This program equips students with foundational knowledge in human behavior, social policies, and research methods, along with practical skills in communication, advocacy, and case management. Common requirements include courses on sociology, psychology, and method courses in social work practice, in addition to field experience. A BSW program graduate is thus qualified for an entry-level job in schools, hospitals, community organizations, or government agencies. The degree also serves as a platform for advanced study in social work, leading eventually to specialized work as a clinical social worker or policy advocate.
